What is IQ?
Vegetable Source DHA Supplement
"Vegetarian Friendly"
What is DHA?
Why is it important?
DHA (short for DecosaHexaenoic Acid) is an essential fatty acid, DHA is essential for visual and mental function.
It is the primary structural fatty acid in the gray matter of the brain, and retina of the eyes. A full 60% of the brain is structural fat, and DHA is the most
abundant component. DHA is important for signal transmissions in the brain, eye and nervous systems.
Low levels of DHA have been correlated with changes in disposition, memory loss, visual and other neurological functions.
Where does DHA come from?
IQ DHA (Neuromins) is derived from algae, not fish, hence it is a vegetarian source.
DHA is usually found in fish and fish oils, and indirectly in certain nuts and seeds.
Many people eat fish to try and increase their intake of this important element; however the cooking process destroys DHA.
Fish oil supplementation could be logical alternative; but many sources have heavy metal contamination due to pollution.
The average U.S. diet is low in DHA, resulting from the decline in consumption of DHA sources such as red meats,
animal organ meats, and eggs.
Until now, the most common vegetarian source of DHA has been flax seed oil, which most vegetarians use as their source of
omega-3 fatty acid, the precursor to DHA. Flax seed oil is an imperfect solution because it is difficult to metabolize.
As you can see, a supplementation solution is needed for a quality, biologically available form of DHA as a practical way to
maintain healthy blood levels of DHA.
IQ DHA Supplement provides a pure, safe, vegetarian source of DHA extracted from algae, making it the ideal DHA
supplement for everyone. When taken regularly, IQ will help maintain healthy blood levels of DHA for people of all ages.
In Europe and Scandinavia, DHA is being given to women considering
pregnancy and also to lactating mothers. European preterm infant formula
now contains DHA. US infant formulas do not yet include DHA. DHA has also
been shown to be helpful for children with learning disorders and related behavioral problems.
Adequate dietary intake of DHA is particularly important for pregnant and nursing women. Significant brain and eye development occurs in utero and continues during the first year after birth. Infants rely on their mothers to supply DHA for the developing brain and eyes initially through the placenta and then through breast milk. DHA is the most abundant omega-3 long chain fatty acid in breast milk and studies show that breast-fed babies have IQ advantages over babies fed formula without DHA. But, DHA levels in the breast milk of U.S. women are among the lowest in the world.
IQ is a dietary supplement of DHA that when taken regularly, will normalize the levels of DHA in the blood.
People who limit their meat and egg intake (such as vegetarians or those on low-cholesterol programs) and
others whose diets are generally low in DHA can assure an adequate supply by supplementing their diets with IQ, brand of DHA.
